WHAT WE DO

Holistic Health and Stress Management Workshops

Akhila Health offers 1 hour workshops that help underserved women reduce stress, build resilience, and develop practical wellness tools that support wellbeing in body, mind, and spirit. Workshops are offered both in-person and virtually, and generally fall into two categories: 70+ educational workshops focused on holistic wellness and stress-management tools, and activity-based workshops centered on movement, creativity, and healing practices.
EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

Tools for body, mind & spirit

Examples of topics may include:
  • Diet, nutrition
  • Breathing techniques
  • Mind management
  • Emotional resilience
  • Meditation, imagery
ACTIVITY-BASED WORKSHOPS

Movement & expressive arts

Examples of topics may include:
  • Yoga
  • Qigong
  • Somatic practices
  • Sound healing
  • Arts and Crafts
WHERE WE SERVE

At partner organizations in the community

We partner with local organizations that provide food, shelter, emotional or educational support to underserved women. Partner organizations include homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters and cancer support organizations. We are primarily in the Bay Area with locations in Denver, CO and exploring partnerships with organizations in otherstates.
We provide in-person workshops as well as virtual workshops on Zoom.
HOW WE ENGAGE WITH FACILITATORS

Collaborative and supportive

All facilitators receive onboarding and support within Akhila's trauma-informed, integrative wellness model. Our process includes the following steps.

Onboard

We get to know each other β€” your unique background, interests, and experience β€” so we can find the best fit for you and the women we serve.

Shadow workshops

We invite you to observe at least two virtual workshops to gain a feel for our approach and the communities we work with.

Train on content

For educational workshops, you'll choose a series that resonates with your background and receive training from its author. You're also welcome to develop original content.
4

Flexible commitment

Flexible days, evenings, weekdays, or weekends. Facilitators typically lead 1–4 sessions per month based on need and availability β€” our team handles all coordination
